Annual Events

The Flagg Township Museum hosts a variety of special events each year, below are descriptions and photos of a few of the events that have been held at the museum.

The museum holds a Chautauqua program in March or April each year with a different topic each of the four nights. Recent programs included Whitcomb Locomotives, vintage baseball, grist mills, Del Monte in Rochelle, heirloom plants, and Laura Ingalls Wilder.
Watch our website and Facebook page to see what topics we will have in our next series.

Railroad Days

Railroad Days in Rochelle are held the first weekend in June.
Many people come to Rochelle Railroad Park to view over 80 trains each day at the only railroad diamond in the State of Illinois.

In conjunction with their events, the museum invites visitors to view our railroad exhibits that include a railroad switch, blueprints of Whitcomb Locomotives and a bench from the Rochelle Chicago and Northwestern passenger station.
